This month we welcome DJ Alf Fonzie to the dancing decks! And DJ Javier will be there to share the vibe and keep you all dancing till the early hours.

The firecracker from Cuba - Damarys Farres - will be teaching our class from 9-10pm, and she’ll have plenty of energy and juicy moves to spice up your dancing.

ADAD Trailblazers Showcase

ADAD presents ‘Exposure’ on Saturday 31st of May 2014 at The Place, London. A choreographic work created by some of the most innovative artists working within dance from the African Diaspora. A mixed bill programme featuring innovative creations of dance, movement, music and performance including film, installation, abstract choreography, dancehall, reggae and dynamic Guinean dance theatre (with live music).

The night is an ADAD Trailblazers Showcase curated by Champion 2012-13 Fellow Denise Rowe, with work presented by ADAD Trailblazers Starter artists Idrissa Camara, Cindy Claes, Cleo Lake, and Denise Rowe.

The evening will culminate in a post show talk that will explore the position of dance from the African Diaspora within the UK today. Hosted by Vicki Igbokwe, Trailblazers Champion Fellow 2012-13 and with special guest panellist.

Inspired by the majestic work of prolific composer Igor Stravinsky, Akram Khan's iTMOi (in the mind of igor) returns a year after its premiere. Re-imagining the ritual sacrifice of The Rite of Spring to a newly created score by Jocelyn Pook, Ben Frost and Nitin Sawhney, Khan's atmospheric, "passionate and captivating" (Metro) work is skilfully brought to life by an ensemble of 11 international dancers.
