The Association of Dance of the African Diaspora (ADAD) seeks an enthusiastic, creative and self-motivated Programme Coordinator to manage a range of new initiatives in Yorkshire . Reporting to the ADAD Director, you will be responsible for planning and executing events, including the regional tour of ADAD’s historic photographic exhibition –‘Black Dance’ in Britain – 1930s to 1990s: Moments. You will also be responsible for developing regional partnerships and coordinating professional development activities.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about dance with a strong track record of project/event management in the arts; excellent communication skills and experience working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
This is a fixed term 18-month contract, which will include some evening and weekend work. Job shares will be considered.

Feedback33 is a Professional Dancers' Mentoring Forum set up by Sheron Wray
An opportunity to take part in various dance techniques with teachers from around the globe. It is a chance to gain insights into the passions, challenges, and experiences of various artists and teachers.

Caribbean Modern workshop with Khadija Johnson, Thursday 18 March 2010, 7.30-9.00pm.
Utilising Graham core technique to assist in the creation of body shapes, Khadija will be delivering a Caribbean Modern class in which participants will explore various Caribbean folk movements.
Cost: £5 full / £3 concessions: students; unemployed-dance professionals* [ID/proof of status required]. * This concession is open only to individuals currently between contracts who dance professionally, and for whom dance is their primary source of income. Khadija Johnson: is a trained professional dancer, teacher and choreographer. Born in Jamaica , Khadija grew up in Copenhagen but returned to Jamaica to further her dance education and training. After graduating with honours from the Edna Manley College - Department of Dance in Kingston , Khadija went on to dance with the National Dance Theatre Company of Jamaica . Since relocating to London , she has taught numerous dance classes/workshops at a variety of studios including Stepz Dance Studio and The Basement. In addition, Khadija has also choreographed several dance pieces for Lunacy, her own theatrical production, which premiered at Jacksons Lane Theatre in August 2009.
