Calle Real's Stunning UK Debut @ The Relentless Garage, IslingtonSaturday May 29th 2010Supported by a host of the UK's top specialist Cuban DJs:
Rich (MC) Dr Jim Sol Amado
Since their stunning debut album, Con Fuerza, in 2006, Calle Real have literally ripped apart the world of Cuban Salsa and Timba, redefining the genres and winning themselves a huge army of fans both in Cuba and around the world. And this is no small feat when you consider that most members of the band are native Swedes! Indeed, their beautiful and moving song, Ya Lo Sé, is nothing short of a global phenomenon, familiar to salseros everywhere and still hugely played, four years on.Desperate for more of their brilliant music, Cuban music fans breathed a collective sigh of relief when, finally, after 3 long years the band released their second gem of an album, Me Lo Gané, in 2009. This brilliant collection of hot Cuban Salsa tracks leaped straight onto dance floors around the world, thrilling the dancers with their unique, irresistible driving rhythms. Here in the UK we are blessed as the band finally make their long awaited and much anticipated UK debut at The Relentless Garage in London at the end of May.
