Dear ADAD
On Wednesday 26th October 2011, Enigma Dance Company will be staging an exciting new piece of hip-hop theatre, Far from the NORM; an exploration into individuality and conformity. The production is choreographed by myself, Botis Seva and includes three pieces of work each exploring a different theme; Confinement, No Escape and Freedom. As a young aspiring choreographer I would really value your attendance at this event and any feedback or advice you can offer.
NORM, Wednesday 26th October, 7:30pm,
The Broadway Theatre, Barking, IG11 7LS

Enigma Dance Company was established in 2009 by myself and my co-director Sharlene Carter. We had the vision of bringing high-quality and low cost dance opportunities to our home borough of Barking and Dagenham. We aim to produce innovative and exciting work which explores issues such as selfhood and social conformity. I want to take audiences on a journey through abstract, contemporary and hip hop dance that causes them to question and challenge both their own and society’s norms. I aspire to push the boundaries of the art form and be recognized for innovation and expressivity.

EVENT 2
The Colored Museum is a thought-provoking, satirical show that has
delighted and discomforted audiences since it was written by George C.
Wolfe in America in 1986.
Taking place in a cultural museum, the 11 living 'exhibits' explore
African-American identity in an exhibition of stereotypes.
Through characters like the pert and ever-smiling Miss Pat, airline
hostess for Celebrity Slaveship, and The Man, a successful businessman
who only wants to be Black at the weekend, Wolfe confronts history and
clichés with gutsy humour. By retiring these 11 stereotypical characters
and attitudes to a museum, he makes room for the future; for new stories
and ideas.
Provocative and seriously funny, The Colored Museum will stir your
emotions and leave you in stitches.
