Come join Mandinga Arts at the Great British Carnival at Queen Elizabeth Park this month!

WHAT: Great British Carnival - a free event for the family
WHO: Mandinga, plus local and international carnival artistes, costumed characters, giant creatures, performers, dancers, DJs and musicians.
WHERE: Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Hackney, London, E20 2ST
WHEN: Sunday 27 July, 12noon to 9.30pm, with the Carnival of the Animals finale performance at 8.30pm
HOW MUCH: FREE!
 Mandinga Arts are bringing our creatures and costumes to the Carnival of the Animals in London's Queen Elizabeth Park, where you can come and join in the parade of colour and light in July. We will be joined by other carnival artistes and characters, performers, dancers, DJs and musicians.
Great British Carnival will be a breath-taking event of dance, infectious music, performance and costume, presenting the world premiere of The Carnival of the Animals: a magical twilight crescendo of costumed performers, 300 dancers, giant carnivalesque creatures and extraordinary illumination.
The Carnival is free and opens at 12pm, with the finale beginning at 8.30pm. The day ends at 9.30pm.

The Carnival of the Animals finale - a magical and memorable climax featuring Mandinga Arts, Shademakers, Rhythms of the City, Mahogany, 300 dancers, members of carnival communities from Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest, musicians and carnivalesque creatures illuminated by pyrotechnic performers from Britain's oldest carnival in Bridgwater.

The Great British Carnival Truck stage - Wayne Rollins and Mama Tokus (MC), with music from Old Orleans, Croydon Steel, Minibloco & Alexander D Great, Orchestra Bombo, Stage Door, London School of Samba, Maracatudo Mafua, Monobloco's Fabio Allman & Rhythms of the City.
The Ship of Fools stage - CarnivalXtra with Hanna Mehmet, Shemzy, James deCosta, Miss Sha, Boy Nash, King Kash, Ayshamar, Ak Rekz, Infecta, Jolade, Lyrically Challenged, C Cane, Izara B, Damien Ike, Minibloco & Mystro, Mila Falls, Cielo. 
Micro-sound systems of World, Latin and African music
Orbit Green - Spirit of Carnival Sound Collective with Solution Sound, Glady Wax, Penny Reel, Jah Observer, Conscious Sounds
Spoken Word Theatre Room in association with Bingly Bongly, Gypsy Stars, Ellen Blane, Sylvia Mwenze, Mystro (solo set), Alexander D Great (solo set), Charl King.
Music Room in association with Movimientos, featuring Croydon Steel, Simeon Turtle, Sister Sidney and Modulation.
Carpenter's Lock in association with Access to Music, Focus Organisation & Worm Food, featuring Sam Way Paraiso, Five-O Band and The Melodians

In the run-up to the event, communities in Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest can participate in free music, dance and mask making workshops, learning routines with a view to joining in the pop-up parades on the big day.
