Through film, archive material, personal accounts, panel discussion, tour and a blues and jazz soundtrack, celebrate this great woman who today is still hidden within British history. Saturday 14 March, 12.00pm – 3.30pm This one-day conference attemptsto trace Black feminist journeys and legacies into the present day. Centred on cross-generational dialogue, this interactive programme encourages reflection, celebration and a return to an activist-centred movement. View films in the Cinema of Collective Black Resistance; examine Black British feminism in the archives, and explore Black feminist activism on a tour around Brixton. Hello People, I would like to share the news of an exciting weekend of dance from West Africa, in particular , dances from different regions of Guinea and Senegal. The classes will be led by Landing Mane, Aida Diop and Almamy Camara and take place on Saturday 28th February 2015. This is a great opportunity to try class with some of the UK's top West African artists, and also try dance with a variety of styles and rhythms... All classes are accompanied by several musicians. If you don't fancy having a go yourself, then leave it to the professionals, there is a performance on Sunday 1st March 2015..! This Saturday Cliff & Miho come back with one of their amazing and so popular Style Workshops! They will focus on shines, footwork, spins, body posture and more. Notice that this workshop is for people who already have some basic dance knowledge.

The Point’s Associate Artist Programme April 2015 – March 2016 The Point is an international hub for the development of artists. We focus on emerging artists, helping them to reach the next step through structured support, and mid-career artists, offering them the time and space to develop and flourish. Building on The Point’s work in supporting artists, The Point is seeking applications for itsAssociate Artist programme as it begins a new journey as an Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation from April 2015. The programme aims to support the creative practice and strategic development of artists and/or companies who are keen to make a step change and progress to the next stage in working with us to develop their practice/company further. We are seeking four performance based artists/companies and for the first time we are welcoming two digital creatives to be based within our new Tec Hub. The Point is keen to hear from artists who are able to contribute to the daily life of the building and associated hubs and be able to work in or around Eastleigh over a 12 month period. Associateships will begin from 1st April 2015 for 12 months.
