Sky 1’s ‘Got to Dance’ finalists Trinity Warriors performing live in Gloucester !

One of the UK ’s top dance crews, Trinity Warriors, is coming to Gloucester for Carnival day!

Trinity Warriors’ awe-inspiring performances brought them fame on the live final of Sky 1’s hit TV program ‘GOT TO DANCE’, when the celebrity judges hailed them as ‘word class’.

UK Hip Hop guru Kwesi Johnson, will MC the crew’s performance at 12.30pm in Kings Square on Saturday 28 July; and, from 4pm after the Carnival parade, audiences will witness a wealth of professional and local talent on the Dance Stage in Gloucester Park .

Performers include international touring professionals StopGAP and Gloucester-based UK Lindy Hop Champions Gary and Sara Boon (who were also shortlisted by the Got to Dance judges on last year’s programme!).

The Dance Stage is one part of arts activity designed to give a new lease of life to Summer in Gloucester and Carnival, which has been organised by a new Carnival Arts Partnership.

There’s plenty of chance to join in and get creative: with a range of dancing, drumming, facepainting and costume making tasters this weekend on 21 and 22 July in Gloucester Park.

Event producers GDance are also giving anyone, aged 8+, the chance to create their own parade dance, costumes and music at their bargain (£25!) Carnival Arts Course at Blackfriars Priory from 24 to 28 July. The deadline has been extended, and application forms can still be downloaded from http://www.gloucestershiredance.org.uk/.
