For the next three weeks classes will be taking place at the classy Ruby & Sequoia club http://www.ruby.uk.com/sequoia/index.htm. Classes start as normal for beginners at 7.30pm, followed by the intermediate session before social dancing.

LONDON MAYOR’S CULTURAL STRATEGY CONSULTATIONCarnival Village together with the Greater London Authority (GLA) is hosting an event as part of their consultation for the draft Mayor's Cultural Strategy. This event will provide an opportunity to hear in detail the Mayor's priorities and plans for supporting culture in London, and to respond to them. Munira Mirza, the Mayoral Advisor on Arts and Cultural will present the Strategy which will be followed by a question and answer session. This event will give London’s carnival community and others the opportunity to directly inform the final strategy.

Vicki Igbokwe and her fabulous company are holding a week-long summer school. The school will take place at Kensington and Chelsea College (Wornington Campus), London, where several talented artists will deliver classes in different techniques and dance styles, including Urban Contemporary, Waacking, House, and African Dance.
