Hello beautiful people and welcome...

to the October edition of Element Arts Company's newsletter. As a group we experience so much positivity from building and growing as a team, and it's an added pleasure being able to share this with you.
Since July when we last spoke, we have been busy with our new Salsa choreography Nana- which will finally be unveiled in October and November, auditioning for some fabulous new dancers, performing our new Contemporary Latin works Orixas and Birds of Paradise, performing with Vamos Festival, MC Magico, DJ Lubi to name a few, classes in London and Leeds (with the Leeds class culminating in a performance at The Carriageworks Theatre for The Dance Studio Leeds!)
One of highlights was the commission of ‘Orixas’ and 'Birds of Paradise' theatrical works for the Billingham International festival. EAC have been working hard on the project creating Contemporary Latin works with musical compositions and the work premiered at Empire Theatre in Middlesbrough on 12th August. It has been a really special opportunity to create a piece over a period of 5 days and we look forward to extending this work later in the year.
We also said goodbye to our Manager Femi. Femi has been consulting with us to help improve the way we work at Element Arts Company, but is now pursuing his own professional music career. We wish Femi the best of luck on his new adventures!

Please read on to find out about all our news and adventures...

Thankyou and Adios!

Well that's all from us for this quarter! Here at Elements we believe this is our year of the butterfly, we are working hard behind the scenes to transform the company and grow into something even more beautiful, as dancers, as teachers and as a community. So before we sign off, we have a beautiful quote from the wonderful and inspirational Maya Angelou:
“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”
Much love,
Ella and Element Arts

Santa Maria Foundation
C
rowd funding campaign at the Santa Maria Foundation
Santa Maria are a charity perform for and support. They are very passionate about educating their orphaned girls in Colombia -South America . They have just hit 25%, and are asking for help to go further.
In Colombia 37.2% of the 45.2 million inhabitants are below the poverty line, with 14.2% of those in extreme poverty.
This puts the children at most risk where unfortunately many are subjected to regular violence and physical abuse as well as a lack of education. It has been proven that a lack of education they will not be able to elevate themselves out of poverty in the future.
This is why the Santa Maria Foundation in the UK would like to establish a springboard that would enable the abandoned, orphaned, vulnerable at risk girls in Colombia to be supported through a safe platform of education to provide them with a more secure future. To do this they need to provide experienced teachers to help these vulnerable girls reach their full potential and elevate them from their disadvantaged circumstances.
