It’s a busy time at Dance UK as we look forward to The Future: New Ideas, New Inspirations, the UK’s first-ever industry-wide conference for dance. With over ninety speakers and performances spanning all sectors of the dance industry we will focus on new models, new partnerships and challenge how we work to identify solutions to the challenges dance faces in the wider world.

On 23 February Dance UK will launch the Dance Manifesto. Please see below about how to get involved and make sure that your MP knows that dance is important to you.

Also in February the first POP screenings will take place at Trinity Laban. We’re excited to hear about dancers’ experiences taking part in the POP programme and how they will use their screening results to improve their training and performance over the coming year.

This month’s e-news is sponsored by MOVE IT. The UK’s biggest dance event brings together 24,000 dancers with incredible live performances, over 240 dance classes, performance opportunities and shopping. PLUS new this year the MOVE IT PRO series will deliver essential coaching and guidance for professional and aspiring professional dancers through a series of intimate masterclasses and seminars. Dance Manifesto

On Monday 23 February Dance UK will launch the Dance Manifesto, at a beginners' social dance class hosted by the All Party Parliamentary Dance Group for all MPs. With the title Dance: A Great British Success Story, the Dance Manifesto will seek to highlight areas where dance adds value or could contribute more, and will include outline recommendations for government support for dance in the regions and nations of the UK.

This is an important opportunity for us to advocate for dance in the lead up to the 2015 election. We need your help to ensure that dance is top of mind our MPs. Please take the time to personally invite your local MP to this event and consider coming yourself.

You can find your local MP's name and contact information using your postcode or constituency here: http://www.parliament.uk/mps-lords-and-offices/mps/
