Our Dance programme continues this Autumn season in November and December. FIPA present fantastic Bollywood dance and puppetry with their double bill, Dark Angels and The Fatal Hunt. We are also presenting a Dance Showcase triple bill, featuring emerging artists Temitope Ajose Cutting and her company, and rising duo Seeta Patel and Kamala Devam.
We are also continuing our Dance on Film programme with screenings of dance films, old and new, followed by exciting masterclasses to match.

Feedback33 is a Professional Dancers' Mentoring Forum set up by Sheron Wray.

An opportunity to take part in various dance techniques with teachers from around the globe. It is a chance to gain insights into the passions, challenges, and experiences of various artists and teachers.

Venue: The London Studio Centre, 42-50 York Way, London N1 9AB

Time: 7pm – 9pm (registration: 7pm-7.30pm; class 7.30pm – 9pm)

Contemporary Caribbean Fusion with Oniel Pryce, Thursday 3rd and 10th December 2009, 7.30-9.00pm.

Oniel’s classes are influenced by his passion of promoting intercultural understanding of dances from the Caribbean, coupled with his experience as a contemporary dancer/choreographe r. His class will focus on the principles of Caribbean traditional dances fused with contemporary dance styles.

The class will focus on:

Rhythmic sensibility
Performance skills
Speed
Endurance
Musicality
Strength
Choreography


The class promises to be fun, challenging and exciting.


FEEDBACK33 TEACHER'S BIOGRAPHY
Oniel Pryce – is an experienced dance educator, administrator, performer and choreographer, who specialises in the theory and practice of Caribbean traditional dance forms, Jamaican Dancehall, Afro-Cuban technique, Caribbean jazz and Contemporary/ Caribbean Contemporary. A native of Jamaica, Oniel began his formal dance training at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts School of Dance before going on to gain a Bachelor of Fine Arts Diploma in Dance Education from The State University of New York, College of Brockport, and an MA in Choreography from Laban.

Oniel has shared his specialist knowledge in Caribbean traditional dance technique by lecturing at the Edna Manley College of the Visual of Performing Arts, conducting various workshops for dance teachers in the Caribbean, and via the role of adjudicator for the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission’s (JCDC) annual dance festival of the arts. Since moving to London he has worked as a freelance teacher/choreograph er with various organisations including: Irie! dance theatre, Caboodle Arts, Feeback33, Cornwall Youth Dance Company, Bridgewater College Dance Department, in Somerset, and Goldsmiths, University of London.

Feeding his passion for dance performance, Oniel has performed in Movment Angol Dance Company’s 2007 production Physically Masculine, BiggeThanme’s 2008 production Range and Breathe, at Resolutions 2008 in Cry Haiti, choreographed by Shelley Ann Maxwell and, most recently, in State of Emergency’s production Dads and Lads Move, which toured nationally earlier this year.
