Dance UK and Association of Dance of the African Diaspora’s Sugar Dandies’ High Tea
Dance UK and the Association of Dance of the African Diaspora (ADAD) are joining together for a very exciting fundraising event on Sunday 6 April 2014 – a High Tea with a twist: hosted by the Sugar Dandies, Britain’s same-sex ballroom champions (as seen on Britain’s Got Talent), at the prestigious Royal Ballet School in Covent Garden.
This glamorous event will be attended by some of the leading dance artists from the dance world. Guests will be treated to an array of savoury treats and luxury cakes, and will enjoy champagne and selected teas and coffees as part of their High Tea experience. They will also have the opportunity to enjoy outstanding performances and entertainment in an intimate and relaxed environment.
Further details of the programme for the afternoon, ticket prices and all arrangements will be sent with a full invitation shortly. At this stage, we are just asking you to save the date in your diaries.
All proceeds from the event will go towards dance programmes produced by Dance UK and ADAD in the coming year.
We look forward to sharing this afternoon with you and hope you will be able to support us.
Very best wishes

Love&Sex – National Tour
It’s all systems go as State of Emergency’s Love&Sex is now on the road and coming to a venue near you! Click here for tour dates and to buy tickets: http://www.stateofemergencyltd.com/tour_calendar.phpLove&Sex is a journey in two parts. Starting with the expectation of a girls’ night out, the action soon descends into a stark and alien world. Choreographer Colin Poole responds to power and gender balances in relationships and the negative impact of social media, TV advertising and easy access to internet pornography. But all the time the human heart beats strong. In the second part of the show choreographer Alesandra Seutin creates a world of love and hope amidst the negative pressures of modern life. The soundtrack, composed by Steve Marshall frames the dance using electronic, ambient, blues, soul and jazz to underscore the clash of two worlds.
Re-Position London
This group meets every Tuesday 5pm-7pm usually led by the wonderful Vicki Igbokwe but, as she is busily working in Russia to help create the Winter Olympics opening ceremony, she has left the group in the capable hands of Alesandra Seutin and Ingrid Mckinnon and other excellent guest tutors.
The Re-Position London group had a busy year in 2013 with performances at Greenwich Festival, Cultural Explosion and in Birmingham as the guest entertainment following Nick Clegg’s speech at The Creative Apprenticeships Awards Ceremony. This year they are already booked to perform at Cultural Explosion Festival at Rich Mix in March with a new work choreographed by Alesandra and to create a curtain raiser for SOE’s Love&Sex Tour when it hits The Place Theatre on April 1st.
The group is open to new members and for the amazing weekly fee of only £3, as it is subsidised by SOE. This is a vibrant, uplifting class with brilliant opportunities for skills development and performance. Contact
