Local Traders will be hosting a Lavender Hill Street Festival on Sunday, June14th.
Salsateca will have a space with Jongleurs from 1.30pm. We will have music so please come along say hello , and do some dancing in the street with us !
This year the Traders have chosen to support the well-known local charity:TrinityHospice and aim to raise over £10,000!!!
There will be tons of family-friendly activities and attractions, games ;bouncy castle; face painting; candy floss; cake stalls; a dog show , henna painting and live steel band .
Local restaurants will run stalls outside on the pavements, serving fantastic international cuisine !!

Showcasing the freshest freestyle Hip Hop theatre. Hosted by Jonzi D, The Surgery is our regular eclectic mix of new Hip Hop Theatre work featuring rap, dance, poetry and beats. Bringing a musical element to the night, DJ Pogo will be joining Jonzi on the decks.
Tickets are only £5 on the door and every Surgery is different!
The evening always features brand new work created during Jonzi D's Hip Hop Theatre Lab. If you're an emcee, dancer, poet, actor or DJ looking to share your skills and create new work, the Hip Hop Lab is for you. Taking part is FREE, just email a short desription of your work and experience to

Issa Sawane is an inspiring teacher from Casamance, Senegal. As a choreographer and performer he has impressed audiences with his dynamic appearances in Senegal, and the UK, including at Tribe of Doris, Womad Festival, and African Village Festival.


During this 3-hour workshop, Issa and his musicians will be drawing from their wealth of knowledge of the dances, rhythms and songs from Mandinka traditions of West Africa (dances include Jambadon, Nyarga, Ekonkon, Lenje, Mbara and kumpo) to give us an unforgettable experience of Senegalese culture.

Dancers: Open to all levels
Drummers: You should have some experience with Casamance Drumming as you will be accompanying Issa's professional drummers and providing music for the dancers.
